Burnham Boiler Installation with 8-Zone Heating System

At Montanari Fuel, we recently completed a boiler installation for a 3,390 sq. ft. home, upgrading the heating system to a powerful and efficient Burnham EMP224E boiler rated at 224,000 BTUs. The goal of this project was to improve heating performance, increase efficiency, and provide better temperature control throughout the home.

High-Efficiency Boiler System

For this installation, we selected the Burnham EMP224E boiler, known for its reliability and strong performance in residential hydronic heating systems. The system was paired with a high-efficiency Grundfos pump, helping ensure consistent water circulation and improved overall energy efficiency.

Proper system design and clean piping are critical for long-term performance. Our team installed a neatly organized piping layout to keep the system efficient, serviceable, and built to last.

Custom 8-Zone Heating Setup

To give the homeowner better comfort and control, we designed an 8-zone heating system. Multiple zones allow different areas of the home to heat independently, which helps maintain consistent temperatures and reduce energy waste.

The zones were configured as follows:

  • 6 zones serving cast iron radiators
  • 1 zone for domestic hot water
  • 1 radiant heating zone for the garage

This zoning setup allows the homeowner to control heat more precisely while ensuring each part of the house receives the warmth it needs.

Clean Installation & Reliable Controls

As part of the installation, we set up dedicated zone control panels and carefully piped the system to create a clean, organized manifold layout. This approach improves reliability, simplifies future maintenance, and helps ensure the system operates smoothly.

Attention to detail during installation plays a major role in how well a heating system performs over time.

Improved Comfort and Efficiency

With the new Burnham boiler and properly designed zoning system, the home now benefits from:

  • Even heat distribution throughout the house
  • More efficient system operation
  • Precise temperature control by zone
  • Reliable performance for years to come

Projects like this highlight the importance of proper system sizing, quality equipment, and expert installation when upgrading a home’s heating system.
